Music And Flowers

Service Music & Flowers

Music and/or song lyrics can help families express their feelings about their loved one in a succinct and beautiful way.

Songs can evoke memories of the person who is lost, allow time for reflection, and at the same time help soothe and ease the grief of those people attending the funeral service.

A playlist of music for before and after the service can be a lovely touch. This may even include some of the passed loved one’s favourite songs.

We may also be able to accommodate musicians who would like to play live music during a funeral service.

Some of the most popular funeral songs include
  • The Wind Beneath My Wings – Bette Midler
  • Amazing Grace – Various Artists
  • What a Wonderful World – Louis Armstrong
  • Time to Say Goodbye – Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman
  • Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring – J S Bach
  • Unforgettable – Nat King Cole
  • We’ll Meet Again – Vera Lynn
  • Danny Boy – Various Artists
  • Ave Maria – J S Bach
  • Bridge Over Troubled Water – Simon and Garfunkel
  • Canon in D – Pachelbel
  • Memory – Barbara Streisand
  • I Will Always Love You – Whitney Houston
As a member of the Australian Funeral Directors Association, RJ Sidney Craig Funeral Directors has copyright permission to use recorded songs by artists for funeral and memorial services.

Our compassionate and professional staff have access to a vast music library and can assist families with their service music selection.

In addition to music, flowers are a great way to honour the life of your departed loved one. Funeral wreaths and funeral sheaths are the most popular choices when it comes to flower arrangements. A funeral wreath is a circular flower arrangement, while funeral sheaths are flat and elongated arrangements.
These flower arrangements can be put on or beside your loved one’s casket or coffin. Our caring staff are available to answer any enquiries you may have regarding how to decide on the perfect floral arrangement for a funeral service. We can also arrange for floral deliveries to churches, chapels and gravesides.
